Once a quarter, starting this month, the PA Farm to School Network (PFSN) is planning to host a virtual open house. Anyone interested in learning more about farm to school activities and opportunities in PA are welcome to join!
Whether you’re an educator, a school food service staffer, farmer, producer, or community member, we invite you to join this open house to meet other PFSN members and learn how you can help advance farm to school efforts in your own community.
To help us prepare for this upcoming open house, we’re looking for your input!
- Submit a success story: If you have a farm to school related success story or highlight you want to share submit yours here and we’ll share it before and during the open house.
- Share your opinion: Take 30 seconds to share your thoughts about what we can include during this open house to make it accessible and useful for everyone interested in attending!
At the upcoming open house on Thursday June 22nd from 1-3:30 PM ET participants will hear about PA Harvest of the Month (PA HOM), a program developed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and Project PA (Penn State University) to promote a local agricultural product each month through schools, child and adult care centers/day care homes, and summer feeding sites. The program aims to provide participants with local, healthy products while supporting Pennsylvania farmers and producers. The first hour will include a few presentations related to PA HOM, followed by 30 minutes of networking and open discussion time.
