You’re invited to the PA Farm to School Network’s (PFSN) June virtual open house on June 12th from 3-4:30 pm to discuss youth leadership in farm to school!
The farm to school movement has long connected students with fresh, local food, hands-on agricultural education, and meaningful ties to their communities. These initiatives are designed and implemented with students in mind, however, their own voices are often overlooked. When young people take the lead—whether by organizing school garden initiatives, shaping cafeteria menus, or advocating for food justice—they bring urgency, creativity, and authenticity that adults alone cannot replicate. Their input and expertise are essential in building a more just, sustainable, and inclusive food system.
Join us to hear from students and staff of Lankenau Environmental Science Magnet High School as they share their experiences and stories. This open house will focus on the importance of youth leadership within the farm to school movement, giving us all a chance to learn directly from students themselves.
