Like many farmers across the state, The Pennsylvania Farm to School Network has been using the winter and the time indoors to plan ahead. And now we want to share those plans with you and begin to work together in more robust ways.
As many of you know, since 2017, The Food Trust has loosely coordinated a statewide farm to school leadership team, which includes partners from state agencies, nonprofits, Penn State University, and other sectors. We have collaborated around initiatives you may have read about in this newsletter: Pennsylvania Harvest of the Month, the Farm to Institution Grower Sessions, PA Preferred Days, and several others. In 2020, the team underwent a strategic planning process and we agreed: it’s time to build out the Pennsylvania Farm to School Network in partnership with communities across the state. Throughout the month of March, the leadership team will be hosting a series of conversations to discuss our draft strategic plan and hear feedback in small group settings.
But first, we’d like to tell you more about who we are and how we got here. Please join us for an introductory webinar, which will include further background information on the Pennsylvania Farm to School Network, an overview of the draft strategic plan, and upcoming opportunities to engage.
Register here and spread the word. We look forward to working with you!
